Christmas Eve

It's hard to imagine it being Christmas Eve already, but it is in fact here. Mark and I will be celebrating the season in just a few short hours (we both grew up opening packages on Christmas Eve).
It's a smaller Christmas in our household this year as Ryan wasn't able to make it home. My parents decided to stay in Utah and spend the holiday with my brother and his family, which is only fair since Mom and Dad came to our home last year. We miss you all very much and wish you were here with us!

On another note:

You may or may not know that we've had some terrible snow and ice storms here in Oregon, especially in the Portland area. Our little town doesn't often receive snow, but when we do just about everything comes to a stand-still. Friday was our last day with students for the 2008 year and we actually had a 2 hour delay due to the following:

I know that to you fellow Utahn's this piddly amount of snow is laughable (I chuckle myself at the fear the snow brings around here). However, this is our street on Friday morning when we should have been at work. And although our snow has now melted and we are having more traditional Oregonian weather (rain) I'll leave you with more of our snow pictures from the yard on Friday and imagine that we are indeed having a White Christmas...
