Maternity Clothes

I went to Eugene yesterday and finally bought some maternity clothes. I felt so comfortable at work today, which was a good thing since I arrived at work at 6:30 this morning and didn't get home until after 8pm. (I had a required 4 hour class tonight....it was long, boring, and generally pointless. I'm glad the district has money to fund such useless trainings). Anyhow, maternity pants are my new favorite things!

I shopped at the Motherhood store, which was a first for me. The ladies there were so attentive and sincere. They kept putting outfits together for me to try on and found all of the petite sizes for me. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Not the hooker part of Pretty Woman, but the part where Edward leaves her in a store with his credit card and the employees spoil her rotten. Alas, I did not have a wealthy Edward with me and I used my own debit card, but nonetheless, it was nice to have their attention!

It's strange to be 10- 10 1/2 weeks along and already be in need of maternity clothes, but I can't help it! I have a tremendous baby bump and can no longer stuff it into regular pants.

Hooray for maternity clothes! It is so nice to be able to breathe again. When I was pregnant with Michael, a friend of mine told me I could keep wearing my regular pants for a while if I put a rubber band around the button and through the button hole, then looped it back around the button. Sounds great, right? But no. Sadly, when you use the rubber band trick, there is no way to keep your zipper up, and my pants just felt like they were falling down all the time - not to mention, non-maternity shirts are often not long enough to cover the zipper area. After one day of that, I decided that the cost of some real maternity pants was much better than stressing over whether my unmentionables were showing and whether my pants would stay up. Glad you're comfortable now!!

I bet you're a tiny little thing. I love maternity pants too. I'll take comfort over fashion anyday when I'm pregnant. At least they make cute maternity now. Too bad we all don't have an Edward as our shopping partner :)
