Dada and Blah-Blah

My son has started "talking". He frequently refers to Mark as Dada. In fact, most of the time he babbles dadadadadadada repeatedly, which could be easily misconstrued as mere babble, however, he will look right at Mark and say Dada. He will put his hands on Mark's face, smile, then say Dada again. Whenever one of us asks, "Jake, where's Dada?", he will look right at Mark.

I find this all very precious, but yet, a deep, dark, jealous part of me finds it disgusting.

I mean seriously, I carried this child around for 38 weeks. I suffered from extreme exhaustion. I suffered with extreme weight gain. And I had extreme pain (due to giant baby colliding with giant kidney cyst in half of a uterus). I was cut open in order to bring him into this world, and it was I who went through 4 months of recovery in addition to a second surgery!

Don't I deserve some sort of recognition????

To be fair, I suppose I do get some. My son looks at me and says "Blah-blah".

I believe this is his way of saying Mama, but it comes out "Blah-blah", and he doesn't say it as frequently as he says Dada.

So there you have it. I am now referred to as "Blah-blah". :)

Yes but when he looks in the camera after the touchdown/accepts his Oscar/wins best new artist or whatever, he'll say "HI MOM"
