The Blogging Blues...

It just hit me tonight how long it has been since I last blogged. I blame it on being so busy these past several weeks.

After all, we sold the old house, we've moved, we've unpacked (well, sort of), we've continued with the school year (also known as work), I've continued with school (I'm currently working on my 21st credit and will have 24 by the end of August), I'm now 22 weeks pregnant, and there is only 3 days until summer vacation! Woo Hoo!!! There has also been some extreme exhaustion mixed in there with all of the above mentioned excuses for NOT blogging, in addition to the fact that both Jake and I were recently sick.

Man, it's been a crazy, busy, hectic, stressful, but good few weeks. We LOVE our new house. Part of me was waiting to blog until I could post some pictures of our new home, but my camera memory cards are all full and the house is not fully unpacked yet. We are still waiting on our new bedroom furniture to come and the leather sofa/hide-a-bed for upstairs. Eventually we'll get a new kitchen table and some bar stools, but we can hold off on those items for now. Anyhow, pictures to come, but I just can't do it all as soon as I would like. The old me would have had this house unpacked and fully decorated within two weeks of moving in. But the old me was not pregnant, nor was she a grad. student. Needless to say, the old me had much more energy and no longer exists! We've officially been living here since April 26 and, um, yeah, that's all I'll say about that! This is the one we finally bought...http://www.roseburghomes.com/pics.html?mls=RMLS&listingid=10004710

We do love it here, but we are anxiously awaiting our summer vacation so we can finish the small details of unpacking. My goal is to have the house totally complete by the end of summer. If I need longer, however, I have a back-up plan which is to have the house totally unpacked by the time this baby arrives!

Speaking of baby: we are having a girl this time around and she is expected to arrive at my scheduled c-section on October 1. We have several names in mind, but we have not chosen one as of yet. I have thrown up a lot more with this pregnancy and brushing my teeth was near impossible for a while because of my overly-sensitive gag reflex, but I'm far enough in that the worst is over (I hope). No more puking, no more gagging. In fact, I've been feeling great and have not gained nearly as much weight this time around. I think it helps to NOT have a gigantic, life sucking cyst on my kidney...hopefully another one won't develop. Cross your fingers!

Jake is doing well. He still only has 2 teeth, but some top ones are finally poking through. He turns one year old on Saturday, which I can't believe! I took him for his one year portraits today and can't wait to see how they turn out. He says 6 words now: Dadda, Momma (thank goodness he's given up calling me Blah-blah), kitty, uh-oh, ball, and dog. He is pretty mellow and an awesome sleeper. I absolutely love being a mom and can't wait for this next baby to arrive (although I'm not excited about the delivery part).

So that's it in a nutshell, I think. Life has truly been crazy. We were fortunate enough to sell our place in 5 days and the whole process was as smooth as silk. I truly feel blessed for how easy it was to sell and buy. We even made it in time for the tax credit! We talk often about how lucky we are and how fortunate we have been. It's such a peaceful feeling to finally have enough space for our family and guests. Now, to decorate it all! :)

Your home is beautiful. I know you are anxious to get everything in it's place - but it will come.

You have a lot going on! I hope that you are able to relax this summer. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. It is so fun to have one of each although girls are so much more fun to shop for.

Yay! Blog post! I hope we will see you in July even if you don't make it to the reception. Also, love that Lennon's "Real Love" is in your play list... our wedding dance was to Regina Spektor's remake of it, you should check it out.

So glad to read your updates. Sounds like things are going well for you (especially since you can now brush your teeth without gagging).
