Marathon Wednesday

Wednesday was a particularly long day. We went to work as usual at 6:30am, worked all day, and went to my 3rd ultrasound at 3:30, stayed at the doctor's office until 5:30, then went to my Crystal Apple celebration at 7pm. Ugh...

The ultrasound was positive. We heard the heartbeat (160 bpm) for the first time and left with some very detailed 3D/4D pictures. A potential problem with my type of uterus is that the placenta can develop in the opposite half of the uterus as the baby. Fortunately, this is not the case for us. Everything is developing in the same half which is the best possible news. In fact, things looked so good, I get a week off! I don't have to go the doctor next week at all! My next appointment is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and I will have my 4th ultrasound at that time. After Wednesday's ultrasound, I then had a physical, followed by my "official intake interview" and some blood work. They poked and prodded me in many different places, and I was exhausted. A bit haggard looking too! (Therefore, I have not included ANY pictures that were taken during my crystal apple ceremony. I looked horrible!)

The school board meeting was quick and fairly painless. When it was my turn to be awarded I had the stand in the middle of the room, by my self! One of the board members then read aloud the glowing letter written by my principal. It was a very kind letter, but I felt vulnerable, as though I were on display. It was a tad awkward...Anyhow, my crystal apple is at home, sitting on a shelf. They also gave me a copy of the letter read. Marathon Wednesday finally ended. Sigh...

Since I refuse to include a crystal apple ceremony photo, I'll leave you with a pregnancy photo. Warning: only view if you are prepared to be frightened! Though I'm only 8 weeks along, parts of my body are beginning to warp or expand (and I'm not referring to just my belly). Nobody told me that my rear end would also join in the expanding festivities....I try not to look in the mirror these days.

I'm glad things went well at the doctor. It is so worth it but unfortunatley your body will never be the same again. :)
Congrats again on the award!
