Oh, Baby (Shower)!

My baby shower was on Friday and I have to admit, I had so much fun! Stephanie threw the party and a good time was had by all. 99% of the guests were co-workers, however, my mom managed to make it down from Utah along with a former neighbor, Gayle Burbidge, and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law were there too. It was amazing to be surrounded by so many people who care for me, Mark, and Jake! There was probably 20-25 people there throughout the evening.

Games were played, food was eaten, and I think I opened presents for 2 straight hours! I was absolutely spoiled rotten! The amount of gifts we received was overwhelming. We will absolutely use everything we were given and again, can't believe how much we received. We've spent Saturday and today trying to find homes for it all. However, now that the shower has been held, I can really get to work in the baby's room. I know exactly what I'm working with now and we have the furniture all in place. The glider arrived late Thursday night and is now put together. We are still expecting the bassinet and swing to come sometime this week. Things are moving along! By next weekend, all should be done! :)

Several co-workers went in on a group gift and gave us our stroller and car seat. Another group of co-workers went in on the swing we registered for. We received about 8 blankets-7 of them were hand made. We got some clothes, a diaper bag, an umbrella stroller, crib sheets, bibs, shoes, toys, bottles, nursing paraphernalia, gift cards and everything else in between. I can't even name all that we were given. Truly, as I stated above, we were absolutely spoiled rotten. It took two car loads (SUVs) to get everything home:

Thank you so much for your generosity! Baby Jake is one lucky, and well-loved little boy.

Really enjoyed the shower and so glad I could come meet all your friends. You'll find places for all that great stuff. Hard to believe that such a little person requires so much stuff isn't it?
Love you,
Mom
